Slate Digital announce MetaPitch plug-in

Create vocoder-style melodies via MIDI

Slate Digital MetaPitch pitch-shifting formant-shifting saturation stereo width vocoder effects plug-in

The latest plug-in to join Slate Digital’s line-up delivers a range of classic pitch-shifting effects, and also includes a number of handy additional features that aim to set it apart from the competition. MetaPitch offers independent control over pitch and formant and comes equipped with built-in saturation and stereo width effects, as well as the ability to create custom vocoder-style melodies via MIDI.

The right-hand side of the GUI is occupied by a pair of large Pitch and Formant controls that each provide up to 12 semitones of adjustment in either direction, with a Link button allowing the two controls to be moved simultaneously. A toggle switch above the controls switches between standard pitch-shifting operation and a Robot Mode that can be used to create a range of vocoder-style effects. When active, the mode is capable of following a MIDI track, allowing users to draw in their own custom melodies.

A lower section then houses variable Drive and Widener controls that offer a saturation effect and some stereo width manipulation, whilst some tonal shaping is provided by adjustable low- and high-pass filters. A Mix control follows, and is joined by an Output Gain knob. There’s also a Low Latency button for those who want to monitor the plug-in’s output whilst tracking. As with the company’s MetaTune plug-in, MetaPitch is kitted out with a grouped instance feature that allows the same processing to be applied across multiple tracks from a single instance.

Compatibility

MetaPitch is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or 11, and Macs running macOS 10.15 or higher. VST2, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

Pricing & Availability

MetaPitch is available now, priced at $199. It is also included with Slate Digital and SSL’s All Access Pass and Complete Access subscription bundles.
