Arturia announce Pigments 5 soft synth

New generative sequencer, external audio processing & more

Arturia Pigments 4 multi-engine softsynth audio input generative sequencer synthesizer plug-in

The latest version of Arturia’s flagship soft synth has arrived sporting an overhauled GUI and boasting a range of powerful new features. Pigments 5 packs in a new sequencer and enhanced routing options along with enhanced visual feedback, improved CPU performance and more.

Promising more ways than ever to craft hard-hitting sounds, the latest version of Pigments is equipped with an improved Play view that boasts new waveform visualisers and enhanced controls, as well as a new sequencer that comes with a collection of pre-defined patterns and a generative algorithm that can create new sequences with a single click. It is also possible to trigger other instruments thanks to a MIDI output from the sequencer section.

Routing has been improved, too, with the AUX FX send now offering the option of being placed before or after the instrument’s insert effects, making it possible to route processed audio into the built-in spatial effects. A side-chain input has also been added, which allows audio tracks to be routed through Pigments and processed by its Utility engine. Alongside all of the functional improvements, the instrument now utilises multi-core processing to reduce the load on the host computer’s CPU resources.

Arturia have also expanded the factory preset library, with an additional 100 presets along with new wavetables and samples pushing the total count of built-in sounds over 1500. If that’s not enough, a trio of new Explorations sound banks are available as an additional purchase, each containing an extra 150 preset patches that showcase the instrument’s versatility.
