Slate Digital’s latest offering has been designed to add some punch to low-end content where it’s needed, as well as creating it where it’s missing. Infinity Bass is kitted out with four different processing modes and can be used to enhance a wide range of electronic and acoustic instruments, as well as adding some weight to groups and full mixes.
The plug-in’s Punchy mode engages a bass exciter which has been designed to treat electric, acoustic and synth basslines, as well as enhancing kick drums, whilst Warm mode offers a dual-band subharmonic synthesizer that is said to excel at treating bass and synth sounds. Deep mode then provides a clean sub-bass generator with some dynamics control that promises to add depth to kick and bass sounds as well as enhancing full mixes that are in need of some additional low-end content. Finally, Phased mode houses an all-pass filter designed to boost low-end transients.
A set of four controls along the bottom of the GUI allow users to fine-tune the plug-in’s effect. The target range can be set with a Frequency control, with the level of processing applied defined by an Amount dial. A Character knob then carries out a number of tasks including adding saturation, or affecting the decay and dynamics of the generated sub-bass signals. Some final control over level is provided by an Output Gain control, and there is also a Listen button which isolates the processed part of the signal, making it easy to check exactly what they plug-in is adding to the source track.
Compatibility
Slate Digital Infinity Bass is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or 11, and Macs running macOS 10.15 or higher. It is available in VST2, VST3, AU and AAX formats.
