Acoustica Mixcraft 10.5

Windows DAW gains built-in stem separation

Acoustica Mixcraft 10.5 DAW update AI stem separation project templates

The latest update to Acoustica’s Windows-based DAW has arrived, building on the features introduced in its last major version release. Mixcraft 10.5 offers a range of new functions and improvements including AI-powered stem separation, user interface enhancements, new plug‑in management options and more.

Exclusive to the Pro Studio version of the DAW is a new stem separation tool capable of dividing a mixed audio file into individual elements. The feature allows users to split audio into multiple tracks containing isolated parts such as vocals, drums, pianos and other instruments, allowing them to be edited, remixed or replaced entirely. Users of both Pro Studio and Recording Studio will also gain a new Project Templates system, which offers a range of pre-configured sessions aimed at tasks such as podcasting, mastering, video editing and more.

After introducing a new plug‑in Manager function in version 10, Acoustic have continued to implement stability and support improvements that promise to make plug‑ins more stable, and have also added an Auto-Save feature that will operate at user-defined intervals and reduce the risk of projects being lost or corrupted by plug‑in crashes. Controller integration has been extended, too, with Mixcraft 10.5 now offering built-in support for over 20 popular control surfaces, with more planned for future updates.

The company have also added more third-party content to the Mixcraft Store Tab, which contains offering from the likes of Addictive Drums, Antares, Baby Audio, Blue Cat, Cherry Audio, D16, FabFilter, Kilohearts, Kuassa, and PSP Audioware. Soundtrack Loops, Loopmasters and more. Many of the add-ons are free, and there’s also a new Loyalty Credit scheme that awards users with credits they can use towards paid-for content.
