WA Production release InstaComposer 2

AI plug-in instantly creates MIDI parts

WA Production InstaComposer 2 AI MIDI melody bass line rhythm drum generator plug-in

The latest version of WA Production’s AI-powered MIDI generator plug-in has arrived, offering a range of improvements over its predecessor. InstaComposer 2 is still capable of generating parts with the click of a button, but now allows users to organise their ideas and song parts into eight scenes, as well as providing extended scale support, introducing a new virtual keyboard, delivering improved CPU performance and much more.

AI-Generated Parts

The company say that rather than using random note generation, the plug-in uses a combination of unique algorithms and databases to instantly create rhythmic and melodic structures, mimicking human creativity. Adjustable controls are provided to help users define how InstaComposer 2 develops ideas, with fine-tuning of variables such as chord complexity, note population, beat and bar structure, velocity randomisation and more all possible.

Complex algorithms allow InstaComposer 2 to generate melodies, bass lines, ostinatos and rhythmic patterns, chord progressions, drum parts and more. Six tracks are provided, along with eight scenes, allowing the plug-in to be used to develop layered parts with alternative ideas, variations and different song parts all within a single preset.

Editing

Once parts have been created, they can be customised further thanks to an on-board MIDI editor with a piano roll interface, allowing generated parts to be perfected before they leave the plug-in. Each part can be assigned to control different instruments (or different parts of multi-channel instruments), and it is also possible to simply export the generated MIDI as files for use outside of the plug-in on a DAW’s MIDI or instrument tracks.

With the release of the latest version, it is now possible to use the plug-in to create drum parts, with support for a wide range of time signatures, styles and levels of complexity, whilst a selection of different modes allow users to pick a starting point that narrows down the types of patterns created. Improvements have also been made to scale support, with a total of 22 new scales included, and a new virtual keyboard highlighting notes that fall within the selected scale.

InstaComposer 2 comes equipped with a huge collection of factory presets that demonstrate what it is capable of, and provide the starting point to get new users up and running quickly.

Compatibility

InstaComposer 2 is supported on PCs running Windows 8 or above, and Macs running macOS 10.15 and higher. VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

InstaComposer 2 is available now, and is being offered for an introductory price of $32.70 until 17 August 2023, after which the price will increase to $109.
