The latest plug-in to join Techivation’s ever-expanding collection becomes the first of the company’s products to employ machine learning, and has been designed to increase the level of mixes without raising their peak level.
AI-Loudener analyses the incoming audio signal and continually adapts its algorithm to ensure that the processing being carried out remains as transparent as possible, without changing the peak levels or negatively impacting the overall quality of the mix. As with all of the company’s offerings, it is presented in a neat and simple GUI that offers a minimal set of controls that can be used to fine-tune the results along with some helpful tools such as built-in undo and redo functions and an integrated on/off control that can be used to avoid any clicks or pops caused when using the host DAW’s own bypass function.
Audio can be analysed using a Learn button, which captures 3.5 seconds of audio on which to base the plug-in’s settings — Techivation recommend playing the loudest and busiest part of a track to obtain the best results. At the centre of the plug-in is a Drive control, which sets the amount of processing applied and determines how much the loudness of the track is increased.
An Output parameter places a clean gain stage after the processing to set the overall signal level present at the plug-in’s output, and both input and output peak meters are provided to give a visual indication of the pre- and post-processing levels. A number of oversampling options — Off, Good (x2), Great (x4) and Ultra (x8) are located in the plug-in’s menu, and can be used to tackle any aliasing issues encountered during processing.
Compatibility
AI-Loudener is supported on PCs running Windows 7 and above, and Macs running macOS 10.15 or higher. VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.
Pricing & Availability
AI-Loudener is available now, and is being offered at an introductory price of $45 until 30 April 2024, rising to $90 thereafter. Owners of Techivation’s other premium plug-ins can purchase AI-Loudener for $35, and those who own all of the company’s products — or M-Loudener — will pay $25.
