SCV Distribution have announced a new partnership with software and modelling microphone company Slate Digital, and will now be handling retail distribution of all of the company’s plug-ins and microphone products for the UK and Ireland.
Founded in 2010, Slate Digital have built up an extensive range of analogue emulation plug-ins, with their painstaking approach to modelling promising to deliver authentic-sounding alternatives to a wide range of sought-after vintage gear. In addition to recreating old classics, the company also offer a variety of tools that focus on more modern processing techniques, offering solutions to vocal tuning with MetaTune, heavy-handed dynamics processing with MO-TT and their latest offering, Storch Filter, a multi-effects plug-in created with award-winning producer Scott Storch.
The Virtual Microphone System (VMS) then extends the power of Slate Digital’s plug-in technology to a hybrid system that includes two specially designed microphones, the ML-1 and ML-2. Combined with a modelling emulation processing suite, the microphones provide users with access to recreations of a huge number of classic microphone and preamp designs. The ML-1 and ML-2 are large- and small-diaphragm designs respectively, providing users with a wide range of emulations that are capable of tackling a variety of recording tasks.
