Sound Particles have announced that they are offering a 30% discount on all of their products until 9 March 2024 in celebration of International Women's Day, with 20% of the proceeds being donated to We Make Noise, a non-profit organisation dedicated to advancing gender equality in the music industry.
Despite some progress being made in recent years, women remain hugely underrepresented in the music and audio industries: an ‘Inclusion in the Recording Studio?’ study carried out in 2023 by USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative and Spotify found that just 3% of producers, 13% of songwriters and 22% of artists are women. By donating a percentage of proceeds from their current sale to We Make Noise, Sound Particles hope that they will be able to provide tangible support and resources to help address the disparity.
