MAGIX Software have announced a major update for their award-winning recording, restoration and mastering platform. Samplitude Pro X8 and Pro X8 Suite aim to provide musicians and engineers of all skill levels with a professional set of tools that can be used at every stage of a production, from recording and mixing through to exporting the final masters.
A licence for Samplitude Pro X8 provides users with the DAW and a basic set of tools, plug-ins and virtual instruments, whilst Pro X8 Suite bundles a wider range of additional content that includes additional instruments and plug-ins, some advanced mastering capabilities, and third-party software such as Steinberg’s SpectraLayers Pro 9, Celemony Melodyne 5 Essential and iZotope RX/Ozone 10 Elements.
New features introduced in the latest update include new audio comping capabilities with an automatic grouping feature, offering a quick and easy way to compile an audio track from multiple takes. An AudioWarp function now allows the timing of audio clips to be adjusted and corrected, with advanced time-stretching algorithms helping to ensure excellent sound quality.
A new Marker Track has been implemented, with colour-coded markers now capable of spanning multiple display lanes to provide users with an even more detailed overview important information related to their project. MIDI track display has also been improved thanks to the addition of more prominent note blocks and an enhanced colour design.
A new Multi Codec Export feature means that it is now possible to export to multiple file formats and codecs simultaneously with a single click, with users able to save their most frequently used settings as presets.
Compatibility
Samplitude Pro X8 and Pro X8 Suite is supported on PCs running Windows 10 or 11. There is currently no Mac version available.
