RME to launch M-32 Pro II converters

32 analogue in or out with AVB or Dante

RME M-32 Pro II Series AD DA AVB Dante MADI analogue digital converters

RME have announced the upcoming launch of the M-32 Pro II Series A-D and D-A converters. A total of four models are set for release, replacing the original M-32 Pro Series and offering 32 analogue line-level inputs or outputs with MADI and either Dante or AVB network connectivity.

The new range consists of the following models:

  • M32-Pro AD Pro II: 32 Analogue inputs with MADI and AVB
  • M32-Pro DA Pro II: 32 Analogue outputs with MADI and AVB
  • M32-Pro AD Pro II-D: 32 Analogue inputs with MADI and Dante
  • M32-Pro DA Pro II-D: 32 Analogue outputs with MADI and Dante

Connectivity

Each of the models utilise RME’s high-resolution converter components, allowing them to achieve low latency figures and a signal-to-noise ratio of 120dB (A-weighted). The two AD versions offer the same technical performance as their predecessor, whilst the DA models boast an improved THN+D measurement of -111 dB / < 0.00029% at -1 dBFS. Each of the units also offer calibration level switching on a per-channel basis whilst maintaining full converter resolution, and are capable of accommodating +24 dBu at 0 dBFS as defined by the SMPTE standard.

All of the models include coaxial MADI I/O as standard, along with Word Clock and MIDI I/O, and it is possible to add MADI Optical SFP with an optional card. The AVB models are able to transmit and receive up to 128 channels at 48kHz (96 at 96kHz, and 64 at 192kHz), whilst the much-requested Dante versions support up to 64 Dante channels. Channels from both MADI ports can be also be individually routed to and from AVB/Dante destinations.

Operation

The M-32 Pro II Series feature an intuitive user interface, with a two-inch high-resolution colour display and encoder knob providing visual feedback and direct control over all of the systems key features. Clock configuration, preset management, single channel routing across all analogue and digital I/O, redundant power supply monitoring and many other features can be adjusted from the front panel, whilst a web-based interface allows control from a computer over either a network connection or USB. The devices can also be controlled via JSON and SysEx MIDI or ATDECC (AVB model only).

Pricing & Availability

The M32-Pro II Series will be available in Q3 2023, with pricing available through authorised dealers.
