Input and output modules for Aurora(n) converter

Lynx Aurora(n) LM-A4 LM-A24 input output modules converter analogue digital ad da

Lynx have announced the LM-A4 and LM-A24, two new modules for their Aurora (n) converter that will be available for purchase later this year (2022).

The LM-4A is an output-only module that provides four balanced analogue outputs on TRS connectors, which Lynx say will make an excellent companion to their LM-PRE4 input module, allowing users with smaller studios and I/O requirements to configure a four input, four output Aurora (n). The LM-24A features two analogue inputs alongside four balanced analogue outputs, all present on TRS connectors. The inputs are switchable between +20 and +24dBu operating levels to offer compatibility with a range of professional equipment.

Quoted specifications for both modules are as follows:

Line Out (includes D - A Conversion)

  • THD+N: -108dB @1kHz, -1dBFS, 20kHz filter, +20dBu FS setting
  • Dynamic range: 120dB, A-weighted, -60dBFS signal method
  • Frequency response: ±0.025dB, 20–20kHz
  • Crosstalk: -130dB maximum @ 1kHz, -1dBFS signal
  • Output level: -71.5dBu to 24dBu, adjustable in 0.5dB increments in the analog domain
  • Connection: Electronically Balanced TRS

Line In (includes A - D Conversion) (LM-A24 only)

  • THD+N: -113dB @1kHz, -1dBFS, 20kHz filter, +20dBu trim
  • Dynamic range: 119dB, A-weighted, -60dBFS signal method
  • Frequency response: ±0.010dB, 20–20kHz
  • Crosstalk: -130dB maximum @ 1kHz, -1dBFS signal
  • Common mode rejection: greater than 80dB
  • Full-scale trim settings: +20dBu, +24dBu
