Winners Announced

FMC 2023 Film Music Contest BudapestFilm Music Contest Awards 2023 - Grand Prix Winners Enea Astori, Eimear O’Sullivan and Lucian Marza (holding the flag).

The main organisers of the international competition and festival known as the FMC – Film Music Contest and Awards — recently held the prize-giving ceremony as part of an exclusive four-day FMC VIP Artist Travel Stay in Budapest, Hungary. The event drew together artists from the film, music and fashion industries, along with media partners and representatives of tech companies producing specialist hardware and software products.

Winners

The winners of each of the contest’s six categories receiving hardware and software prizes were: 

  • Eimear O’Sullivan (Ireland) – Scoring Retro SCI-FI Animation category, Grand Prix winner
  • Enea Astori (Italy) – Music For Film, TV, Ads category, Grand Prix winner
  • Lucian Marza (Romania) – Animation, Films, Videos category, Grand Prix winner
  • Jack Kent (Italy) – Action Game Soundtrack category winner
  • Roman Miroshnichenko (Russia) – Instrumental music category winner
  • Shirley Choi (Hong Kong) – Symphonic Orchestral Music category winner

Ceremony

The Grand Prix prize provided the three highest scoring winners with an all-expenses-paid VIP four-day stay in Budapest, where they attended a prize-giving ceremony and were presented with their awards by the competition’s organisers.

With the cameras rolling, winners were presented with their prizes at a rooftop ceremony affording an exclusive panoramic view of the whole of Budapest. The gathering that personally presented awards to the winners included FMC director Vlado Železňák Jr and FMC producer Vlado Železňák Snr — in attendance on behalf of the competition organisers — and FMC’s media partner Paul Gilby (UK) from Sound On Sound magazine. Also present were Antoni Ozynski (Poland), co-founder of PSPAudioware (a long-standing partner of the event); Jozef Zeleňák, director of Prodex; Ruby Fang (Hong Kong), a successful fashion designer, CEO and chief design director; and Paul Kevin Wiffen (UK), a member of the 2023 international jury. 

The organisers have also expressed their gratitude to media partners Sound On Sound and ACN Newswire, as well as all the sponsors and prize donors: Moog Music, PSPAudioware, Meze Audio, Best Service, UJAM, MakeMusic, Soundiron, Prodex and D16 Group Audio Software.
