Immersive reverb plug-in gets major update

Fiedler Audio Spacelab 1.5 immersive reverb Dolby Atmos Composer integration

Following their recent public beta, Fielder Audio have announced the release of a major update for their 3D reverb plug-in. With the launch of version 1.5, Spacelab now seamlessly integrates with the company’s Dolby Atmos Composer software, providing immersive audio creators with a reverb that feeds directly into their Dolby Atmos mix.

Both versions of Spacelab, Interstellar and Ignition, can now be used directly alongside Dolby Atmos Composer, with all of the appropriate channel routing taken care of with a single click. A speaker layout editor helps to ensure that LFE signals are handled and assigned correctly, whilst a reworked binauraliser algorithm offers improved panning and provides two additional virtual spaces that offer different tonal options for binaural monitoring.

It is possible to open the Dolby Atmos Composer’s Beam Editor directly from Spacelab, and a new Mono switch has been implemented to address unwanted stereo operation forced by DAWs such as Ableton Live, Reaper and Bitwig. A manual delay compensation feature has also been introduced, making it possible to correct latency issues that have been reported in Logic Pro X and Pro Tools.

In Spacelab Interstellar, it is now possible to apply source parameter automation on every track loaded with an instance of the Beam plug-in, allowing automation data to be moved along with audio regions if necessary.

Compatibility

Spacelab is supported on PCs running systems running Windows 7 through 11, and Macs running macOS versions 10.12 to 12. As of the 1.5 update, all versions of Spacelab are natively compatible with Apple Silicon processors. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

Pricing & Availability

The update is available now, and is free to all registered owners of Spacelab Interstellar and Spacelab Ignition. For those wishing to purchase a license, Spacelab Interstellar costs $599, and Spacelab Ignition is priced at $249.
