Independent publisher Bjooks have announced the upcoming launch of a Kickstarter campaign to fund their latest release, The Minimoog Book.
As you may have guessed from the name, the new title will document the history of Moog’s iconic synthesizer, from the early prototypes and the very first Model D, through the Minimoog Voyager to the present-day reissues. It will open with a foreword from Rush frontman Geddy Lee, and present over a decade’s worth of research carried out by esteemed jounalist and music historian JoE Silva.

Readers can expect exclusive interviews and features with legendary musicians including Keith Emerson, Rick Wakeman, Chick Corea, Tony Visconti (David Bowie), George Duke, Anne Dudley (Art of Noise), Bernie Worrell, Devo, Kraftwerk, Air, J Dilla, Gary Numan, and many others — as well as some of today’s most respected songwriters and multi-instrumentalists, such as Greg Kurstin (Adele), Yumiko Ohno (Buffalo Daughter), Mac DeMarco and more.
The book will also feature detailed photography along with schematics, historical promotional materials, engineering interviews, illustrated sound patches, and over 70 artist features. Bjooks say that the release will serve as the perfect coffee table book and keepsake for lovers of synthesizers, music history, illustration and photography.
